Here is the most complete one-volume collection of Oscar Wilde's work in print today. It includes The importance of being Earnest, based on the original four-act play but with readings from the revised version where tehese are considered to be more 'polished' than original. De Profundis is taken from the only complete and acurate source, the original British Museum manuscript which was until recently suppressed.

We present the final version of The portrait of mr. W.H., never before printed in a one-volume edition, in which Wilde expanded his theory concerning the mystery of Shakespeare's Sonnets. A series of aphorisms entitled A few maxims for the instruction of the over-educated, not until recently included in the Wilde canon at all, is also featured. In this collection 13 poems have been added and some extra stanzas introduced to the remaining poems so that now the poems of Wilde stand complete.

The introduction to this volume has been specially written by Vyvyan Holland, Oscar Wilde's son.

Dustjacket with little tears. Paper slghtly brown aged. A clean, tight and fine copy.
