Alexander Rodchenko (1891 - 1956) was one of the leading figures of Russia's avant-garde. The Hayward Gallery is to show the first major exhibition of his photographs ever seen in the UK. Many of Rodchnko's photographs featured his muse Lilya Brik. Brik was also an inspiration for the revolutionary poet Vladimir Mayakovsky, who was her lover until Mayakovsky's suicide in 1930.
